For holding the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games, Efforts to conduct personnel, economic and cultural exchanges with participating countries / regions throughout the whole city.

We will establish a deep and strong bond between the host country and the host town that exceeds the difference in language, culture and position, with the warmth of the trust and love that each family living in a house.
We also launched the host town appeal executive committee because we want to nurture this host town business to efforts to be connected.
During the duration of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will present the 2020 Host Town House in the Ariake District of Tokyo (Musashino University Ariake Campus).
There will be many competitive venues gathering for the host town-related events to promote the uniqueness of local cities, both in Japan and overseas.
The Secretariat of the Headquarters for the Promotion of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, Cabinet Secretariat established new type of host town in the three disaster-stricken prefectures (Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima) September 2017.
The Secretariat designates local governments attempting to realize exchange of residents while showing its recovery to the countries/regions abroad that have supported them as “Arigato” Host Town for Supporting Reconstruction, and fully supports the exchanges towards 2020.
